Services Offered by the West Palm Beach Chiropractor
Chiropractic Care
The benefit of chiropractic care lies in the ability of the chiropractor to balance and align the spine. Injuries, stress and poor posture cause misalignment and dysfunction of the spine. Alterations of spinal function may interfere with the delicate nerves exiting the spinal cord via narrow openings in the spine. Irritation of these nerves is the source of most back and neck pain and may be corrected by realigning spinal joints (or spinal adjustments.) Our West Palm Beach Chiropractor specializes in delivering gentle yet effective care. It is their goal to make patients as comfortable as possible during treatment. Our west palm beach chiropractors are trained in the following spinal adjustment techniques: Diversified, Thompson, Motion Palpation, Gonstead and Activator, and may use any or all of them based on patient preference or what will give you the best results. Most patients feel an immediate sense of relief or relaxation after their spinal adjustment and look forward to their next treatment.
Manual Therapy
Manual therapy has been used for it's health benefits in many cultures for thousands of years. The benefits of manual therapy include: stress relief and relaxation, decreased muscle tension and stiffness, decreased discomfort during pregnancy, improved healing from strained muscles and sprained ligaments, reduced pain and swelling, reduced scar tissue formation, reduced muscle spasms, increased joint flexibility and range of motion, enhanced athletic performance, deeper and easier breathing, improved blood circulation and movement of lymph fluids, reduced blood pressure, relieved tension headaches, improved posture, strengthened the immune system, improved post-operative rehabilitation and rehabilitation after injury.
Our west palm beach massage therapists are well-trained in medical massage, deep-tissue massage, sports massage and swedish massage therapy techniques as well as trigger point therapy and neuromuscular reeducation. Massage therapy may be used alone or in addition to chiropractic care or other physical therapies. Often times, the most effective treatment utilizes a combination of massage therapy with chiropractic and/or physical therapies.

Clinical Support for Manual Therapy:
- Back Pain: More than one study has shown the effectiveness of manual therapy for back pain. In fact, one 2003 study showed it reduced the need for painkillers by 36%.
- Headache: Headache pain also responds well to manual therapy, as shown by more than one study. Manual therapy can reduce the number of migraines a person has and also improve sleep.
- Osteoarthritis: the first clinical trial looking at the effectiveness of manual therapy for knee osteoarthritis, participants who received treatment either one or two times a week had improvements in pain, stiffness, and function. The control group had no such change.
- Cancer: Used as a complement to traditional, Western medicine, manual therapy can promote relaxation and reduce cancer symptoms or side effects of treatment. It may help reduce pain, swelling, fatigue, nausea, or depression, for example, or improve the function of your immune system.
- Depression and Anxiety: A review of more than 12 studies shows that manual therapy helps relieve depression and anxiety. It lowered levels of cortisol by up to 50% and increased levels of neurotransmitters that help reduce depression.
